The Purposeful Mayo turns 1 in April and TPM Gallery is thrilled to present our next online gallery CALL FOR ART.
This call for entries is open to artists 18+ internationally, from any background and at any stage in their art career.
Theme: open.
Submission deadline: April 10, 2022
Artists notified on: April 18, 2022.
Exhibition dates: April 22 - May 22, 2022.
After May 22, the online exhibition will be archived and accessible under "Past Exhibitions."
The online exhibition will be accompanied by a 3D viewing room. Successful artists will be featured in the gallery section of the TPM website, in Issue 7 of The Purposeful Mayo Journal, on social media, and will receive a certificate of participation.
Submission fee: $15 USD for 3 images, $20 USD for 5 images
Eligible media:
Contemporary and fine art, all genres and art styles accepted, including but not limited to: painting, drawing, watercolour, mixed media, analog collage, fine art photography (preference for film photography), textile work, sculpture, installation. We are not looking for digital art at this time.
How to enter:
Please send your submission by email to hello@thepurposefulmayo.com with "YourFirstName YourLastName Gallery" in the subject line. (For example, if your name is Snow White, your subject line would be "Snow White Gallery"). Please make sure you read the full Terms and Conditions (outlined below) first.
Pay the submission fee (below) and include the order number in the body of the email.
Include a short bio (1-3 sentences) or a blurb about yourself, an artist/process statement (optional) and links to your website and social media (if applicable).
For each piece: include the title of work, year of completion, medium, dimensions, price* (optional) in the body of the email or as an attached Word document.
[* There will be no sales conducted through the platform, and any sale inquiries will be directed to the artist. The Purposeful Mayonnaise will never charge commission on sales occurring as a result of being featured on the platform.]
We welcome work from previous contributors, but the submitted work should not have been previously published on The Purposeful Mayonnaise (either in the journal or at The Bagel Hole). You can submit images from the same body of work, as long as they are not the same pieces.
You will get a confirmation email in the next 48 hours following your submission to let you know we received your work.
Image requirements:
Images should be sent as Jpeg attachments, 72 dpi and at least 1000 px on the shorter side.
Make sure the images are well lit, cropped around your work, with no frames or background showing except for sculpture and installations.
Please use the below button to pay the entry fee. We can only accept payments via PayPal at the moment. You don't need a PayPal account to complete this transaction.
Terms and Conditions:
The call for entries is open to artists 18+ internationally. Entries must be original work, and art must be entirely the work of the submitting artist.
By submitting to the TPM Gallery, you are confirming that you own the rights to the work or have permission from the copyright holder to submit the work.
Submitted work should not have been previously published on The Purposeful Mayonnaise (either in the journal or at The Bagel Hole). You can submit images from the same body of work.
There is an administrative fee to submit to TPM Gallery. [There is no fee to submit to The Purposeful Mayonnaise Journal or to The Bagel Hole.]
The entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, and it does not guarantee entrance to the online exhibition. The TPM Gallery online exhibitions are competitive and are juried by members of The Purposeful Mayonnaise or guest jurors/curators.
The entry fee is payable at the time of the application. Entries not accompanied by the entry fee will not be considered.
The following types of submissions are prohibited and will not be considered: fan art, work(s) that are offensive in subject matter, work(s) that promote illegal activities, work(s) that contain pornographic, discriminatory, violent messages, work(s) that are not original. The Purposeful Mayonnaise has no tolerance for racism and discrimination.
By submitting your work, you are granting The Purposeful Mayonnaise the non-exclusive, royalty-free right to publish the work in its submitted form on our website, publication (online or print), social media channels, newsletter. The Purposeful Mayonnaise uses Canadian English and reserves the right to edit all written content submitted (artist bios, artist statement) for grammar/spelling/formatting without changing the content of your writing.
